Park Property Management Inc. is an active participant in supporting many charitable organizations. We love our tenants and the city that we live in! 

 

We constantly strive to improve the lives of those around us and in our community, as well as trying to be as environmentally conscious as possible. There are so many organizations and programs throughout Toronto that tenants can actively donate towards and/or be a part of. Let's actively try to make our city a better place to live for everyone and try to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, so that less is thrown into the dumps. 

 

REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE

Waste Nothing is an index based website where you can type in anything that you no longer need, want or can use, and it will pull up resources throughout the city to help you de-clutter while also helping those within the community!

 

REDUCE by Borrowing & Repairing

Similar to a library filled with books, members can sign out tools and gadgets as a space and cost saving alternative to Toronto residents.

Toronto Tool Library

Operating on a non-profit bases, the Toronto Tool Library loans specialized tools to community members. Not only can members sign out tools for their home and community projects, but the Toronto Tool Library has an on-site wood working shop and offers a variety of workshops and youth programs to get training on using the tools. 

Toronto Kitchen Library

Similar to a regular library, members can check out specialty kitchen equipment. They have a range of products to borrow; dehydrators, pasta makers, ice cream makers, fondue sets, beverage dispensers, canning sets, mixers, electric grills, food processors, raclettes, torches, counter top burners, etc. 

Repair Cafe Toronto

This organization's volunteer "fixers" help visitors learn how to repair their broken items for free. Their goal is to build a more sustainable society, and to counter the throwaway mindset. Repair Cafe helps to foster a sense of community, as well as teach people repair skills that will give a new lease on the life of their belongings and gadgets.

Clothing Repair-A-Thon

Why buy new clothing when you can refurbish your old favourites? Repair-A-Thon offers free public events throughout Toronto, where anyone can bring clothing to be repaired by volunteers.

Steps to Recovery

Located in our buildings, we have donation bins available that support Steps to Recovery. Not only do our tenants have the convenience of having a donation bin on site, but all donations are used to directly benefit the charity's many programs, including outreach and rehabilitation programs for recovering addicts across the GTA. Gently used clothing, dishes, cutlery, and small appliances are accepted.

Dress for Success

Working to empower women and men in our community, Dress for Success provides those in need the support, professional attire and development programs needed to get through the interview process and find new jobs. 

New Circles

Driven by volunteers, New Circles offers clothing services, community referrals and skills building programs to those in need throughout Toronto. They frequently are in need of boys sizes 4-16, clothing for young men and plus sizes for women. 

Furniture Bank Toronto

If you're replacing your furniture or are moving out and don't have use for gently loved furniture, the Furniture Bank is a great alternative. The charity assists individuals and families within the GTA who are transitioning out of displacement and homelessness to help furnish their new homes. 

Daily Bread Food Bank

Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that works to fight hunger in our communities. Thousands of people across the GTA rely on food banks. Daily Bread provides both food and support to almost 200 programs across our city. They are the largest food relief charity across the GTA.

Second Harvest Food Bank

All food provided by Second Harvest is donated by local food retailers, manufacturers, restaurants, and caterers. Second Harvest supplies high-nutrition foods for over 220 social service agencies with fresh produce, meats, milk, healthy bagged lunches for children in low-income families at day camps and high-protein foods for seniors and sick people with special dietary needs. On a daily bases they rescue and deliver enough food to provide over 22,000 meals per day.

Free Geek

Free Geek is a social enterprise that accepts old computers, laptops, cameras, DVD/VCR players, keyboards, monitors, MP3 players, speakers, switches, electronic devices and more. They repair, refurbish and properly recycle e-waste, provide technical education, training and job skills and are working towards increasing access to communication devices for those within the GTA.

ReBOOT Canada

ReBOOT Canada is based in Toronto and focus on safely recycling electronics, as well as refurbishing donated computer equipment. They provide low cost access to simple technology and help organizations and individuals get and stay connected. Donated and refurbished electronics are redistributed to charities and non-profit organizations.

Children's Book Bank

By donating gently used children's books, you are giving children in low income homes a chance for new literary adventures.

Toronto Public Library

The library accepts donations of books, CDs and DVDs that can be sold in their "Book Ends" stores. They must be in either English or French, in very good condition and less than 5 years old. They do not accept donations of magazines, encyclopedias or textbooks. Donations are accepted during branch open hours.

My First Wheels

This charity accepts lightly used children's bicycles and donates them to children living in low income neighbourhoods throughout Toronto.

Bikes Without Borders

Bikes Without Borders accepts bicycles in good condition that are then given a tune-up and are donated to marginalized communities both in developed countries and developing countries. They also provide bicycle related solutions, repair/maintenance and training programs for those communities. 

Toronto Bicycle Recycling

Toronto Bicycle Recycling offers a variety of options for those with unwanted bicycles. They repair bicycles wherever possible for resale, strip old unsalvageable bicycles of any components that can be used and responsibly recycle the unusable parts and donate bicycles to local charities. 

Bike Sauce

Bike Sauce is a resource center that provides a free space and the tools necessary for the community to repair their bicycles with the help and guidance of volunteers. Any bicycles or bicycle components are donated to Bike Sauce, are refurbished and sold to the public at low cost.

Bike Pirates

On top of being another DIY bike repair shop, visitors can also get helpful assistance in building a bicycle from ground up. Bike Pirates also accepts donations of bicycle parts to build and/or refurbish bicycles, to sell at a low cost to the public as well as donate to local charities in need of bikes.

Rethink Tires

Rethink Tires is an excellent resource for those looking for a more environmentally friendly option to dispose of tires. They are established in accordance with the Waste Diversion Act of 2002, OTS.

Freecycle Toronto

Freecycle is a non-profit collective that has formed into a worldwide sharing movement that reduces waste, saves resources and enables communities to benefit from sharing amongst one another. Simply create an account, post something you'd like to give away or find, and people within the community will reply.

Swap City

Similar to Freecycle, with Swap City you can find, trade and barter for goods and services to save money and support the local economy.
